I am so excited to announce that I have verbally committed to the University of Hawaii! This has been such an incredible journey and I can’t wait to continue to train really hard over the next two years so that I can be an asset to this amazing team. Thank you to all of the coaches who have helped guide me, all of the college coaches who took the time to talk to me and share your programs with me, and mostly to my parents and sisters for always supporting me.
I am so appreciative of my friend Maddie who came all the way from Arkansas to play with me on October 20th in Huntington Beach. We had a great day and took 2nd out of 24 teams. Our final went to three and it was a battle to the end. It was such a fun day to be back in the sand and I can’t wait for Fall training to begin!
Wow, what a summer!! I spent July playing in six national tournaments and had a blast! I placed in the top 10 of every 16U tournament except one and got to play on center court at the 18U BVCA where my partner and I took first place in the silver division! It was so much fun. I finished the season off at the Manhattan Beach Gold Series last weekend where Ella Sears and I took 1st place.
In the middle of all this, my family and I relocated to Redondo Beach, California! I am so excited to have the opportunity to spend the next two years here training and going to school in beautiful Cali! It’s such a fun adventure.
My friend Emilia and I traveled to New England this weekend to play in the zonals at Ocean Beach. My mom grew up there so a whole bunch of our family and friends came to watch us play who have never seen us before. It was such a cool experience! I served a shut out game which was fun to do in front of my grandparents. We had such a great time exploring New England and playing on the Atlantic Ocean. Now, onto Seattle’s AVP GOLD event! I love summer!
What an awesome weekend! I played in San Antonio with my friend Maddie and man, did we work hard! We ended up third in the 16U out of 27 teams after losing a tough semi-final match 20-22. We tied with our friends Gracey Campbell (Pepperdine) and Macy Butler (USC) and we were the only uncommitted kids in the top 8. On Monday, we played 18U and took 5th place out of 30 teams, losing in bracket play to the tournament champions. I can’t wait to play with Maddie again in California – we’ll be playing the P1440 and the AAU Non bid events out there in July.
On May 11 & 12th, my partner Elin and I played all weekend against some GREAT teams. We ended the weekend with then bronze and a bid to Nationals! There were lots of committed players there so we were happy even though we really wanted to get to the finals. We took it to 3 sets but just fell short. It was a great experience and we can’t wait to play in Hermosa!
I am so excited to go to Gulf Shores this week! I finished April with a third place finish this weekend at a stacked tournament in Austin. May starts off with Gulf Shores and then a whole bunch of GREAT tournaments for the entire month including AVPFirst Zonals, AVP GOLD in Austin, and a College Showcase in San Antonio. Hope to see you on the beach!
On Saturday, I played with my pal Joley and we won the 18U P1440 Qualifier. The wind was CRAZY so the volleyball film looks a little funny but we had a blast playing and overcoming the conditions. This week at school, I was inducted into the National Honor Society which is a great honor. Last weekend I played in Dallas with my friend Emilia and we took third in both tournaments — we were a little disappointed because we lost super tight games in both semi’s but overall, it was a great weekend.
Last weekend I had the opportunity to play with my great friend, Kristen Kleymeyer (HBU). We only lost once all day and that was to the tournament winners and rock stars Katie & Camden. We had fun playing together since it has been awhile so taking second place surrounded by great competition was a pretty good accomplishment.
Another cold and rainy weekend in Dallas, TX but what a great tournament! Chloe and I had a great time playing and placing in both the 16U (3rd) and 18U (2nd) age groups. We loved all the goodies we got for winning our pools and for placing. It sure made a cold day so much more fun than it would have been without volleyball!
